Testimonials

I cannot believe how fantastic the first week of school has gone for our Alec. His attitude was unbelievably better this past week and I believe he is truly found a place where he can attend school and actually be happy! We are so excited for him!

When Alec was in the public school system I know his needs were not being met. As much as they tried, they were not equipped with the right training to be able to interact with Alec in the way necessary to reach him. The Autism Oasis Team are fully capable of doing this and it shows in Alec's attitude. Alec used to come home from school so stressed out he was bouncing off the walls. He would be fed up, frustrated and unhappy to the point where it was almost impossible to have a relationship with him at home. This week we are seeing a boy who is happy and relaxed and so much more interactive.....it is truly amazing! This makes the whole family atmosphere so much better.

I have no doubt that Autism Oasis is the place where Alec can finally be at home and happy. Thanks so much Marie and Rob and all of the staff for being the loving caring people he needs.

Garrett has been interacting more with the family and he is really trying to use words more than he ever has. He has even tried a couple of new foods - even different colors. He hasn’t been resistant about going to school; like he use to.

Thank you and everyone for all your hard work with him.

Dear Autism Oasis Staff,
This has been an incredible six weeks with our son Alonzo.  It makes us feel so good to see our son excited to leave home to go to school.  Just yesterday, he left his grandparents behind as they exited their car and ran to the entrance door to the school by himself.  He definitely feels at home at his new school.

Alonzo has been communicating more with one and two word phrases.  It was rare that Alonzo would put two words together before entering this school year.  He only communicated with a few words.  Now, he has been repeating words frequently.  Even saying words and phrases (without prompting) such as "go eat", "bathroom", "go potty", "food", "more eat", "spin", and "my turn" just to name a few.

Alonzo is singing more.  He has always loved music and singing.  He has learned new songs this school year.  We did not know he knew the songs, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and "We are the Dinosaurs Marching".  When he came home singing new songs it nearly brought tears to our eyes.

Restaurant visits and going to church service were usually a challenge but now Alonzo is more patient.  We went to Cracker Barrel a few weeks ago without experiencing a single tantrum or any crying at all.  When we went to Disney World two weeks ago, Alonzo was calmer and more patient than any other theme park visit in the past.

Alonzo has begun to intently call me "Mommy" since he started at The Autism Oasis For Kids.  Every time he says "Mommy",
I melt.  Last week, he began requesting his grandmother by saying "gwamma".

We are very thankful to God and the staff at Autism Oasis For Kids for assisting us in being able to reach Alonzo and watch him blossom right before our eyes.

Sincerely,

Anisha and Al Jackson

My son Brennon, now eight years old, was enrolled in ESE classes at two different public schools for a total of four years. One of the classrooms was an autism only class.

I saw him progress very slowly but especially over the last year, I have not seen any progress at all. He seemed to be getting more depressed, so his father and I started looking for alternatives to the public school system. We wanted to try something different for him, to help him move forward in a more positive direction.

I happened to see an article in the Gainesville Sun about the special way of teaching autistic children used at Autism Oasis for Kids.
I immediately called that morning and spoke with Marie Trempe about coming to visit the school. I went to the school that very day to observe the staff and how they interacted with their students. Once there, it only took a short amount of time for me to see that this was the school for my son!

My son has been at the school now for one week. In this time, his vocabulary has expanded by at least five new words! He is happier and has already made a good friend. The staff is exceptional because they teach these children with all their heart, understanding and patience.

My husband and I couldn't be happier with the decision we made of enrolling our son at Autism Oasis for Kids!

Thank you all so much!
